History of
Munro Agromart
With roots going back to 1977, Munro’s has been helping local farmers in Eastern Ontario for decades.
1977-1978
1981
The fertilizer plant was built with a 70 MT tower and the latest Sackett blending equipment. The business quickly began to thrive becoming a local landmark in the community. Around this time the first Loral Air-Flo in Eastern Ontario was purchased for applying fertilizer.
Munro partnered with The Agromart Group, to begin a joint venture. The Agromart Group supplies the business with state-of-the-art infrastructure, massive storage facilities and industry leading technology.
1983
- Around this time the Chemical Warehouse and Shop were built.
- Bruce purchased Munro’s first self propelled field sprayer, opening the door to custom spraying application.
1985-1995
Operations remained the same, but the farm grew as fast as their yields! In turn demand grew larger as did the Agromart, with additions to custom equipment, and increased capacity to the fertilizer plant and grain facility.
2003-2012
- Seed Building was constructed adding a bulk seed treater.
- Rhona retires from the business in 2010.
- Added a storage Equipment Building to house all our equipment in 2012.
2015
- Munro Agromart purchased Bainsville Fertilizer, also adding Dekalb to their seed lineup.
- Munro added a 16 MT Vertical blender and 400 MT storage bin for Urea to their fertilizer plant.
2016
Bruce retired and passed on the reins. Having built such a reputable business, known to strive for excellence. They chose to leave the business in hands of new ownership. Young and eager Doug, Dan and Alex have promised to keep the good name of Munro Agromart, remaining dependable, professional, and involved in the community.
2017 to Present
As global agriculture continues to progress, markets and trends change, as did Munro Agromart. A decision was made by the new management group to exit the grain marketing and feed distribution side of agriculture. Choosing in turn to focus on its most esteemed asset agronomy. Specializing in crop advisory, input management and application.
